In 2022, two friends – Johannes and Christopher – set out on a mission: to bring back to the table a long-forgotten food staple once cherished throughout history.

As firm advocates of carnivore and ketogenic nutrition, we refused to settle for industrial, highly processed protein bars. Especially Johannes – an avid hunter and bushcrafter – was searching for a true companion for the wilderness, everyday life, and demanding missions. A bar that combines everything outdoor enthusiasts and survival professionals could ever want: nutrient-dense, compact, extremely long-lasting, and completely free of additives. But such a product simply didn’t exist.

Settling wasn’t an option.

So we asked ourselves: how did people in the past sustain themselves when they were forced to travel for days on end, covering exhausting distances without modern conveniences?

The answer kept appearing in historical records: PEMMICAN.

A vital travel and winter provision – lightweight, durable, nutrient-rich, and storable without refrigeration. A concentrated powerhouse of meat and fat that sustained generations through harsh winters, long expeditions, and life in the field.

What kept warriors, hunters, explorers, and soldiers alive for centuries deserves its place today more than ever – not only on the plate, but in your pack. Always ready, whenever it truly matters.

That was exactly what we were looking for.

What began as a small personal project in our home kitchen quickly became a clear vision:

To revive this functional, unique, and historic food so more people could benefit from the unmatched qualities of Pemmican.

We experimented, tested, refined, and challenged ourselves again and again. All of this so we could finally bring you – the Powerhouse Tribe – our Powerhouse Pemmican: a high-calorie meat bar with more protein than any other bar on the market, free from sugar, flavorings, or preservatives – and with a shelf life of several years.

Perfect for adventurers, military professionals, survival experts, meat lovers, and anyone unwilling to settle for ordinary cereal bars.

In 2024, Alex joined the team – another passionate outdoor enthusiast – to continue our shared mission of making Pemmican known again as the ultimate on-the-go meat meal. Today, we proudly deliver Europe’s only authentic Pemmican to hundreds of customers across 7 countries.
